Biography
Dr.Korre has just graduated with her Doctoral Degree in Environmental Health with major concentration on Occupational and Environmental Medicine and Epidemiology at the Harvard T. H. School of Public Health.She is currently a Postdoctoral research fellow in the Department of Environmental Health at HSPH. She has her Master Degrees in "Environmental & Public Health" and "Epidemiology & Biostatistics" from HSPH. Her current research focuses on the cardiovascular health of police officers and firefighters in the US. Her thesis research focuses on the non-invasive identification of left-ventricular hypertrophy and cardiomegaly in US firefighters. Her group has provided seminal contributions in the clinical epidemiology of cardiovascular events in firefighters, including the first definitive statistical association of strenuous job tasks and on-duty cardiovascular deaths.Maria has a great love for teaching and has received many awards and scholarships, with the most recent one to be the 2015 award for Academic Excellence from the New England Hellenic Medical and Dental Society.
