Biography
Peter Ofner was born in 1950. After being graduated on Semmelweis Medical University, Budapest joined the National Institute of Cardiology. Specialized in internal medicine and cardiology. Between 1985 and 87 he worked as a visiting lecturer on the Memorial University, St John’s, Canada. With special appointment he served as head of the WHO ECG Reference Laboratory and as advisory board member Health and Welfare, Canada. In 2004 he was appointed the General Director of the National Institute of Cardiology, Budapest, Hungary. His main research interests are: cardiovascular epidemiology and prevention, interventional cardiology and clinical pharmacology.
