O. Univ.-Prof. Dr. Otmar Pachinger has been Professor of Cardiology at the Medical University of Innsbruck since 1997 and since 2008 Managing Director of the Department of Internal Medicine. Prof. Pachinger is a member of numerous national and international professional societies, he is a board member of the Austrian Cardiology Society and president of the Austrian Heart Fund. Prof. Pachinger has worked at numerous foreign universities (University of Freiburg im Breisgau, University of Southern California, University of Loma Linda, California). In 2006, Prof. Pachinger received the "Teacher of the Year" award from the Medical University of Innsbruck.
