Biography

Dr Subodh Verma is a cardiac surgeon‐scientist at St Michael’s Hospital, Professor at the University of Toronto and the Canada Research Chair in Atherosclerosis. He has received the Howard Morgan Award for Distinguished Achievements in Cardiovascular Research and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada Gold Medal in Surgery. He is a member of the American Association of Thoracic Surgeons and the College of New Scholars, Artists and Scientists, Royal Society of Canada. Dr Verma has an h‐index of 61, with 14,482 total citations to 281 publications. Dr Verma spearheads the CardioLink clinical trials platform at St. Michael's Hospital and oversees a pre‐clinical research team that focuses on identifying novel biomarkers in cardiovascular health and developing innovative cardiovascular remedies.
